On our team we really bond alot about 3 times a month we get together and go on trail rides or we go to the movies just to hang out with eachother. And for gaming we all have signs and we all yell and stuff its really fun! We have a mandatory riding class with a famous rider ( can't remember his name)2x a month and we have about 3-5 regular pratices a month, about a week before our show we have a mock show and we have judges come in and they tell us what we need to work on.

well for college if you are on the equestrian team and have a major in equine related subjects it is required to take a riding lesson as a class each semester. At most colleges you are assigned a horse and you must take care of it. Then at home shows you ride your horse in normally flat, dressage, jumping, and sometimes cross-country. If you go to a away show you then draw a name out of a hat and are assgned that horse. dressage ridders have a war-up time to pratice there rotuine but if you are doing flat or jumping you are given a horse and you go out and ride it without any warm-up. That's how the intercolliget Riders Association does it but that's for college not high school since where i am from it isn't very rural.
References :
Lots of team events, and lots of individual

team:
team penning
canadian flags
drill team
in hand obstacle relay
working pairs
two man bi-wrangle
Working 4's [drill]

single:
dressage
hunt seat equitation over fences
breakaway roping
steer daubing
barrels
individual flags
pole bending
keyhole
figure 8
driving
hunt seat equitation
saddle seat equitation
stock seat equitation
western trail
hunt seat trail
saddle seat trail
showmanship
in hand trail
working rancher
reining
trail class

I know I'm forgetting alot of them...I'll try to remember more.
Funny...our equestrian meet was just cancelled due to weather...I'm one of the advisors...think I would know this!

Here we go...http://www.ohset.com/events.html

EDIT: There, I went and found my folder...that's all of them.
Seem to be brain dead...can't get link up.

Practice 2x a week, one mainly for drill and riding patterns
Other for in hand classes and driving.
Have auctions for fundraising, also bagging groceries, car washes, have business' donate articles to raffle off, set up and run Bingo night for fundraising, or whatever we think of.

Everyone does work together and support each other...it's one of the things we "highly" encourage.

Something else I thought of...we ride in parades, sometimes our drill team is used as an opener or fill-in spot when our local fairgrounds is holding a horse show, or something equine related. We take the kids on day trips...like...one time we loaded everyone up and went to a lake for swimming and fun during the summer. We get together for large trailrides with picnics or to local swim holes we know...that are large enough for horses to play too. Just different things.
