How To Train Arabian Horses

September 3rd, 2010

Having mentioned in books of history, one of the most famous breeds of horses are the Arabian horses. Being submissive and loyal are the traits they are most known for. The rider themselves or the trainer could do the Arabian horse training. Decide first on how you would like your horse to be trained. You have to maintain a special bond between you and your horse if you want to train him all by yourself. Secondly, a private trainer can be a very expensive deal too. Put in mind that no two horses are alike before you start training Arabian horse. Some horses grasp very fast and can be trained faster, whereas some horses are slow comparatively. But generally Arabian horse training is quite easy.

If you look into history, you would find that Arabian horses were used to protect tents and as war horses back then. In addition, those who were allowed to mate to maintain the lineage are the best horses. So you can be rest assured that the breeds of Arabian horses we have today are descendants of the very best Arabian horses in history.

Arabian horse training is generally very easy as Arabian horses are very intelligent and fast learners. Some reinforcement such as salt lick associated with training could speedy up the their learning process. They develop a good connection with the rider they could trust. Don’t hip or bash an Arabian horse. Doing that would result in them losing trust in humans and it would make them difficult to train eventually.

Being fast learners Arabian horses can learn the wrong practices too as soon as it can learn good ones. They are also not very patient with a new, abusive and inexperienced trainer. It is recommendable that a trainer with experience and confidence would try training an Arabian horse.

Seeing kids around might stress the Arabian horses since they aren’t really patient with children. If your kids want to ride an Arabian horse, it would be best if he has some experience on riding camps first.

Keep in mind that the horse is like one of the family. If you don’t to face any problems with him in the future, treat your horse with love, compassion and respect. Horses are very sensitive animals that can get unnerved very easily. They need to have complete trust in their trainer to have a good training. The trainer can win this trust by treating the horse with due respect.

Training Arabian horses could be exciting and fulfilling at the same time. If you want your horse to be obedient and easy to handle in the training, you have to give your horse all the love he deserves whether you train him yourself or you hire a personal trainer. The article was given by a mortgage broker who has great interest in horse training. And he is also a contractor in forex trading as well as computer services.

What swimming times should I be aiming for in order to get a scholarship into a good college or university?

September 2nd, 2010

For women what are the times that would qualify you to earn scholarships in all of the events for good colleges??
and if anyone knows specifications about applying for swimming scholarships like what qualifications you need and how much training you would put in and what getting a scholarship actually requires you to do when in the college would be good to know too! Or any other information that you know about the matter!

Thanks!
xx :)
This is a huge question and depends on many factors… do you mean just academically good schools (i.e. Harvard, Yale, etc) or good in both academics and swimming (Stanford, University of Arizona, USC, etc)? Stanford, U of Arizona, and USC are in NCAA Division I and have been strong in athletics for years; Harvard is in NCAA Division I, but I don’t think they have had much of a showing at the NCAA Division I Swimming Championships in any recent time.

Each school has their own standards for who they will give athletic scholarships to and some schools will only give out partial scholarships no matter how good you are; they can split scholarships up that way and increase the amount of people that they can give aide to (the NCAA limits the amount of athletic scholarships a school can give out).See the link below for the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving website - this is a good place to find out which schools are in which Division.

My best advice to you would be to go to each school’s athletic website, they should have a current roster with each of their current swimmer’s best events and best times; their fastest will have scholarships, shoot for the times they have posted. You can also, contact the schools you are interested in; each school’s athletics’ website will have an email link either to the Head Coach or each Assistant Coach. Introduce yourself and ask them what times they think you need to get a full ride scholarship to their school. Keep in mind that if you are less than a Junior in High School, colleges and universities are not permitted to actively recruit you, however you can initiate contact and they can answer your questions (at least, those were the rules back in 1995, when I was recruited by the University of Arizona for women’s swimming, the NCAA may have changed their bylaws since then; your club coach should be able to help you contact the right people for conduct rules). Also, check out the NCAA Championship qualifying times, you will need to beat those times if you want a full ride to the best swimming schools, but that is still no guarantee (see the second NCAA link below).

Remember that no school will want you as bad as when they don’t have you, especially if you are good, so bargain hard for your future; it is in their best interest to get you in their program for as little expense as they can manage. If you are persistent, it shows your dedication and coaches really like dedication!

Best of luck!

Is an inflatable kayak good for surfing or should I look for a sit on top?

September 2nd, 2010

I want to start kayak surfing but I am not too sure what type of boat I want. I have read that inflatables are good (and cheaper) but I don’t want to get something that might not work as well just to save a few bucks. Any suggestions?

Inflatables won’t do so well in the surf. Cheap ones are only good for calm water, and higher end inflatables are mostly designed for whitewater with construction similar to rafts. Pretty much anything will get pushed along by the waves, but to really surf, you want to look for something with a flat, planing hull, similar to the bottom of a surf board.

There are several choices for surf kayaks. There are sit-in kayaks, but you more or less need a reliable roll to surf them safely and have fun. And there are a couple different types of sit-on-tops. Recreational manufacturers have been producing a handful of plastic models that can surf such as the Cobra Strike and Wilderness Systems Kaos. These would be good entry-level kayaks. Other manufacturers produce composite waveskis. Many of these are very high performance, though there are a couple user-friendly models.

One more thing: before you get out on the water, PLEASE read up on surf etiquette if you haven’t already. Otherwise you’ll be wondering why board surfers are getting so upset at you and you’ll be back here asking a question like this one: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081118224413AAqcG9b
